Visa for Tourism in Japan
A Japan tourist visa is given to individuals planning a brief visit to Japan for reasons such as tourism (exploring sights, meeting friends or relatives, leisure activities) or business pursuits (business discussions, post-sales service for machinery brought into Japan), as well as for medical consultations and treatments.
This tourist visa can come in two forms: a single-entry visa valid for 3 months, or a multi-entry visa.
Necessary paperwork for obtaining a Japanese Tourist Visa:
For a single-entry visa, please ensure:
A Japanese visa application form is completely filled out as per the instructions detailed in the Japanese visa application guide. It is necessary to sign the form by hand using blue ink.
Provide 1 recent passport-sized color photograph with a white background. We can assist you in arranging this.
Ensure your original passport has a minimum of 6 months’ validity beyond your intended visa validity and two blank pages for visa stamping.
A copy of your Residence permit (for EP, PR, DP, and S-Pass holders) or Re-entry Permit (for PR holders) is required. If you have a new employment pass with a QR code instead of an expiry date, a printout showcasing the validity and expiry status is needed. This can be obtained using the free SGWorkPass app (available on both App Store and Google Play).
Include a supporting letter from your employer or educational institution (for students), issued within the last month. You may refer to the provided example of a school/company letter for guidance. Alternatively, a Business Registration Profile from ACRA issued within the last 3 months is also acceptable.
Bank statements for the last 2 months showing transactions are required. The minimum balance needed for visa application is 3,000 SGD. Alternatively, you can provide a certificate of income or tax payment issued by a public agency.
A daily itinerary for your stay in Japan is needed. Please follow the Japanese itinerary example provided to meet the requirements set by the Embassy of Japan.
For Russian passport holders and holders of passports from CIS countries, it’s necessary to complete 2 application forms and provide 2 photographs.
An authorization letter is also needed.
